The Baga Bairrada project is an initiative of the Bairrada Wine Commission, open to all wine producers in the region.

It clearly establishes a collective standard for "Baga Bairrada" sparkling wine, a unique product with rigorous production rules and a single corporate identity.

It also fosters a style that can make White Sparkling Wines from Red Grapes really stand out in the internal market while preparing them to succeed also in international markets where Portuguese sparkling wines sometimes have difficulties in asserting their distinctiveness.

The Bairrada Wine Commission is committed to leveraging the value of the "Baga Bairrada" product to its highest potential.

Therefore the objective of this project is to promote and disseminate the natural and economic value of the Baga wine grape variety, which is the traditional Bairrada region red grape.
